I cant find any information on UPF rating, so I'm assuming it's not marketed for sun blocking?

It does a great job of blocking the sun. It's lighter weight than your traditional hoodie, but it's not one of the long sleeved sun blocking shirts that are lighter weight and for wearing on warmer days. I'd say you want to be at least in the 60s or lower for this.

It's interesting. They don't even say moisture wicking, so it can't be performance polyester. So there will be zero breathability which our body needs to regulate heat. Why are ppl buying non-performance polyester clothing?

It's breathable, it's the same blend they use in the Ultimate365 polos. It's good for those moderately cold days. If you sweat it doesn't stay wet and it's easy to swing a golf club with it on, no restriction in movement. It's not effective below 55 unless you're layering.

Sorry I think you're misunderstanding materials. Polyester is not breathable. Even performance polyester isn't breathable. It provides the elusion of breathability and heat regulation by pulling body moisture, and fast evaporation. Polyester and performance polyester are two distinct materials. So if it's a hot summer day, you are far better off wearing linen over performance polyester because it traps heat.

Unless it's literally written in the description, I have to imagine it's just polyester.

No I think you're confusing materials with engineering. There's no difference in polyester used in both, just that the ones labeled performance are manufactured in such a way as to allow some air to move through the fabric.

I own three of these in different colors and I know from wearing them they're breathable. They do allow some air (and by extension heat) to escape as well as wicking away moisture. They're not made for cold days as a result they're intended for a cooler spring or autumn climate. It's also not light or breathable enough to justify wearing it on a warmer day.
