sensor not starvis **Sony STARVIS 2 is significantly better than a GalaxyCore sensor.
In the dash camera industry, Sony STARVIS 2 is widely considered the gold standard for image sensors, particularly for night driving and safety recording.

Which Pelsee dash cam would you recommend that has the better sensor?

The P1 Pro if it ever goes back on sale for $49.99. Used to be a regular sale posted on SD. Has 2.5K Starvis 2. If you want true 4K Starvis 2, much more expensive.

STARVIS 2 imx 675 is 5mp not 8mp true 4k but widely used by brands for fake 4k. This one is 8mp true 4k, better then imx 675.

It's not just about resolution. A cheapo Android smartphone with higher megapixel count than an iPhone or Samsung isn't going to take a better picture. I'd take a 2.5K Starvis 2 over a 4K GalaxyCore.

I thought this was the same dash cam I got back in May for $50 as it's the exact same form factor, but the one on this post is for the S1 Pro and the one bought was the P1 Pro which has the Starvis 2 sensor.

Anyway, since both dash cams are the same form factor/chassis, I will assume that this one also has the same problem as my P1 Pro dash cam which is that the hinge that's part of the mounting mechanism has become loose and therefore the dash cam does not stay in place and moves around when driving, specially when braking. I'll often glance at my dash cam and it will be pointing up at the sky and have to fix the positioning constantly. I've managed to use the usb cable to sort of "tie" it in place, but sometimes it won't stay put with that temp solution either.

I thought I would be able to tighten a screw somewhere to fix the hinge, but it's just a pin that goes in a hole that seems to only rely on friction for positioning. I got my gf the same dash cam and she's also having trouble with the dash cam staying put.

There's a Phillips screw -- right end as you face the screen. Mine wouldn't stay tight until I added a drop of blue Loctite. No problems since.

I have 2 of the P1 Pros, very nice dashcams for $50.

I like how they put the rear camera on it's own connection here on the S1.

Nope. Staff post and promo code. Its a paid ad for some shitty product.

Viofos are great. I have a119s in 3 cars and they perform very well. A119 mini2s are current iterations. Its more than whats posted here but i think 1 good use out of it will pay for itself.

I've had two do the same thing. But like brossow said, there's a screw on the right side that you can tighten up.

If it doesn't say it's equipped with a Sony IMX678 sensor...hard pass. Don't just look for "Starvis 2"...it needs to say Starvis 2 IMX678.

At least, they tell you it's a galaxy core sensor.
Dual 4k native at $75 is impressively cheap.
Are there any reviews that clearly compare this to the Sony based ones?
I'd take imx678 + imx675 for the $150 regular price though. I'm hoping prime deals or black Friday will have some good star vis 2 dash cam deals.
