Note one thing, it says not water resistance. The body is hard plastic, but I am assuming water can get in thru the zipper closure rail. Otherwise, $18 is just that low it can get for any such bags no matter how short lasting or not so great quality it might be. Plus, its a name brand.

With most luggage if it's left standing upright water will enter thru retractable handle opening even if the handle is pushed all the way down. I line the bottom of my with bubble wrap where the handle retracts into the bottom of the case. As of yet I have not seen anywhere this problem has been resolved with any of the manufactures.
