I picked up the 420 used for about $150 and it's been great for my needs. It doesn't support Dolby Vision, but I wasn't too concerned with that since I wanted the better upscaling in exchange since I still buy and own quite a few Blu-Rays. Plus my TV isn't OLED and doesn't upscale much if any.
The 450 supports dolby vision but doesn't have the same chip for HDR optimization or upscaling.

Video Processing & Upscaling:

UB420: Includes built-in Wi-Fi.
UB450: Lacks built-in Wi-Fi (relies on a wired Ethernet connection for network features).

Community Reviews
The deal is for 4K UHD movies, with standout value when the titles are ones that benefit from a proper 4K Blu ray setup. The strongest praise centers on the picture quality of discs like 2001 A Space Odyssey and Jaws, and the price can land a little over $8 per title when buying four. A proper player matters for full audio and video quality, since consoles do not handle 4K Blu ray as well and PS4 does not play it at all. Dolby Vision is a recurring limitation here, so the set fits best if your setup does not depend on it.
Common Questions (5)
Not all titles in the deal include Dolby Vision; Godzilla is specifically called out as not being digital. If Dolby Vision is a must-have, check each title before buying because availability varies by movie.
No, PS4 does not play 4K Blu-ray discs. An Xbox One can play them, but it is not the same as using a dedicated 4K Blu-ray player for full audio/video quality.
The UB420 is the better pick for HDR optimization and upscaling, while the UB450 adds Dolby Vision but lacks the UB420's HDR Optimizer and built-in Wi‑Fi. The better choice depends on your TV and whether Dolby Vision matters more than Panasonic's processing.
Yes. The Sony UBP-X700/X700U is the budget choice if you need Dolby Vision, while used players like the UBP-X800M2 can be found much cheaper than new Panasonic models.
The deal can work out to a little over $8 per movie when buying four UHD titles. That makes it a strong per-disc price compared with typical 4K Blu-ray pricing.

At this point, that's likely a Sony player.
Drawback, glitch issues are hit n miss & DV is manual on/off.
Panasonic are considered better but cost more especially if you want DV option.
