Ahhh damn, didn't think I'd see this deal again! Someone help me out, I'm torn between ordering this ad5x or pre-ordering the Creality SPARKX i8. Which would you get if you can do it all over again? I'm just looking to print random small items and car accessories.

Without a doubt i8. No printer poop and super fast printing.

I had this, and went back to the 5M.While it's the best there is at what it does, it's still very slow, and wastes a TON of filament. If you want nice prints, and a machine that simply works, but have a lot of time and don't care about filament costs and waste, get this one. It's a great machine. Me? I'm waiting for Black Friday weekend, for the Creator 5 to go on sale. Costs 2-3x this, but worth the step up, IMO.
I don't do a lot of multi color prints but I love being able to have 4 filaments loaded up at a time and select from them in the slicer. The 5X is worth the small premium to me to not have to manually unload to switch between my common colors. Also, great for finishing off rolls of filament with the automatic swap on runout, or prints that take more than a roll. There's pretty minimal waste on a single filament change, but if you need change(s) every layer, I agree tool changers are the way to go.

Flashforge will be the first and happiest to implement 2a spying software and automatic authority reporting on any cylinder you print. Google it.

I have two of these... One a year old and one a month old. For 220 bucks you can't go wrong. 4 color printing out of the box. That said you will have waste with multi-color. The build volume is a tad small at 220x220. All things being equal (and I hate recommended Creality) but the i8 looks to be the way to go for entry level. It is a bed slinger vs Core X,Y but for same price range it is hard to recommend this at this time. Just newer technology out there for about same price. Although i8 is unproven and Creality as a company is meh. Some of their products are decent to good... Some are pure junk. FF is a more solid company overall but they have some quirks too... Like printing your own enclosure or finding spare parts or the 5 cent spring that breaks on the waste assembly. Anyway... You may want to wait for the i8 Spark.

ad5x is pretty good for price but you really need to eventually move it to lan because you can't print anything if their website is down

I have this printer. Great printer. However the hot end failed and contacted support. I just purchased a new one waiting 2 weeks for them to have me diagnose it. They're terrible at replying.

My 7-year-old son and I are looking to get into 3D printing. I've been reading reviews, but there's so much information out there that it's a little overwhelming. Our max budget is $600. Would this be a good beginner printer for us? I've also seen a lot of reviewers recommend spend up for the Bambu Lab P1S. I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations.

I'd get the bambu A1 or A1 mini combo for ease of use especially for a young child. I would consider using any remaining money to set up an air purifier or some sort of air filtration/exhaust system.
