Bought a year ago. Used it for a bit before I packed it up for moving. Haven't had a chance to get it out again but it's an awesome soldering iron. I left a long review on the older post here if you search.

Ive never soldered anything before and I love this little station. My first attempts weren't pretty, but eventually it's fairly easy to get decent joints. Honestly at $50 if you need one I'd definitely get it.

Really portable this thing gets hot enough? I've always been skeptical of the ones that aren't plugged in as I assumed the power time would be way too little to get anything done.

It's portable, but it's not great for that. If you want actually portable, look at T2 Max. As far as this particular one, I'm not experienced enough to provide an opinion on finer points. I've soldered some very basic things such as ESP32s and various sensors, and it hasn't been an issue for stuff like that. That's using the lowest temperature setting. With that said, nothing's stopping you from using it wired if you feel you need the extra oomph wired mode brings. That, and quicker heating.

Link to the post with my review under the featured comments.

Also found a comment that addressed my only concern with this model. About the replacement tips:

"Fanttik T1 MAX is equipped with 4pcs C210 (C210-I, C210-IS, 2pcs C210-K) rapid heating soldering tips, long service life, and anti-oxidation."

And you can find these in Amazon. So will protect the life of your iron.

I kinda like the idea of keeping the soldering iron stationary while I can keep the lead in one hand and the board on the other... Can the stand be used this way or is it only a holster?

Tiktok mostly have way better deals on all Fanttik products. Also review for this iron is that its highly inaccurate out of the box and will require some calibration, no idea how you do that without additional tools

I dont have this, but this is completely wireless. thats all i can think.
But this is highly inaccurate and quite bulky.
But price vise it is very close to Pinecil even though with Pinecil you will need tips, wire, adapter and battery if you want to bring it to par with functionality

This is fine for soldering tiny wires but anything heavier duty that can absorb a bit of heat doesn't work. I ended up keeping this as a backup soldering iron.

Gotta open it up and adjust the pot. Get a pot of boiling demineralised water for calibration.
