Brooks Revel 8 comes across as a comfortable everyday trainer that also works well for walking, casual wear, and some jogging. The cushioning and support have eased foot and back pain for some wearers, and the fit is true to size for some, though others needed to size up, especially compared with Hoka. The main knocks are durability and feel, with reports of short lifespan, a cheap feel, and very little cushion. It is a solid value at this sale price, but not a standout for everyone.

  • Walkers and light joggers who prefer a comfortable, true-to-size fit, because the shoes were reported as comfortable and true to size.

  • People with back comfort needs who already like Brooks, because the shoes were described as good for the back and comfortable.

  • Runners who want a firmer daily trainer, because the shoes can ease foot pain when softer models feel too mushy.

  • People who need an easygoing shoe for standing around the house, because older pairs stayed comfortable for casual wear after running use.

  • Runners who want a soft, cushioned ride, because the shoes can feel almost zero cushion and may seem too firm.

  • People with wide or hard-to-fit feet, because the shoes can run small and may require sizing up to get them on.

  • Buyers expecting a premium-feeling trainer, because the shoes can feel cheap and have awkward heel, tongue, and lace design quirks.

  • Distance runners looking for long-lasting mileage, because running pairs can wear out quickly and may last only a few months.

You wear same shoes 10 years? That's cheap!

I've been using Brooks for years. Their quality has REALLY fallen off over the last few years. This seems to be the case with most things but it's sad to see such a good brand start using crappy material. Even their high end shoes are giving me a solid 6 months at most.

I've been waiting for a deal on Brooks shoes in widths, because I've been wanting to try them. I've worn them for a couple days and they're comfortable. However, they have some strange design quirks. The pull tab or whatever you want to call it behind the heel, comes to an annoying floppy point. I've never needed to use a shoehorn on tennis shoes in my life, but I have to with these. You can't just slide your foot in. Also, the tongue is annoyingly short, as are the shoelaces. They're perfectly nice, but I'm not blown away by them. I see people in doctors offices and hospitals wearing these shoes all the time, so I expected more. Maybe I'll try a more expensive model if they have widths, but I don't know what I would receive for the increase in price. I don't think these are any better than New Balance that I've worn for years, though.

Not at all. They're comfortable shoes. I've been hearing about Brooks for such a long time and expected them to blow me away, but they're no better than New Balance. Like I said, I probably need to try the more expensive shoes to see if there's a huge difference. I've worn them for days and they're nice.

Amazon switched me to a third party seller after I had ordered and after they classified these as shipped. Ordered them in the same size as all my other shoes which fit just fine. Could barely even get these on my feet. Should've checked reviews earlier as there seem to be many people saying they run rather small. What I received wasn't even close. On top of that, since Amazon switched my order to a 3rd party seller I now have to wait for the refund instead of getting it a few hours after a return drop off at Whole Foods. Disappointing experience.

Well yeah, they're almost replicas of $15 Avia from Walmart. Shoes shouldn't cost this much.
