Brooks Revel 8 comes across as a comfortable everyday trainer that also works well for walking, casual wear, and some jogging. The cushioning and support have eased foot and back pain for some wearers, and the fit is true to size for some, though others needed to size up, especially compared with Hoka. The main knocks are durability and feel, with reports of short lifespan, a cheap feel, and very little cushion. It is a solid value at this sale price, but not a standout for everyone.

Common Questions (4)

  • They can be comfortable for jogging and around-the-house use, and several buyers found them very comfortable for daily wear. A caveat is that some found the cushioning minimal or the shoe less impressive than expected for running.

  • Fit can be inconsistent: one buyer found them true to size, while another needed a full size up from their usual Hoka size and a third could barely get the same size on. If you're between sizes or coming from a roomier brand, sizing up may be safer.

  • The price is notably lower than the recent $100 level and is considered hard to beat because Brooks rarely goes on sale. That said, some shoppers still felt the shoe itself was only average value compared with other models.

  • They may help if your pain is tied to the right amount of support and cushioning, but they are not a guaranteed fix for plantar fasciitis. One buyer said they eliminated foot pain from Hoka being too soft, while another noted PF relief often depends on custom fitting and orthotics.

have a pair of Revels from basically a decade ago and have held up as a comfortable around-the-house shoe. initially used as jogging shoes and did a good job there but there are better solutions for running these days. they're on their last leg so may scoop another pair here for a new house shoe.

Oh interesting! I started having heel pain after wearing a second pair of On Cloudtilt that is 1/2 size too large and flat. I don't get that with super cushy Hoka's. I have gone through several pairs of Hokas without heel pain.

The price dropped down from $100 just before mid September.

That might be why they are cheaper right?

You wear same shoes 10 years? That's cheap!
