Brooks Revel 8 is a lightweight everyday running shoe that also works well as a comfortable casual pair. The cushioning and support feel good for long wear, with some finding relief from foot or back pain, and the fit is true to size for some. The main knocks are that it can run small and tight in the midfoot, with a short tongue, short laces, and a floppy heel tab. A few also found the cushioning thin and the build less impressive than expected, so it suits shoppers who want a simple Brooks fit more than a plush ride.

Common Questions (3)

  • Fit can run small, especially in the midfoot, and some buyers needed to size up one full size. Others found them true to size, so trying them on or ordering a backup size is the safest approach.

  • They're comfortable for everyday wear and can work for jogging, but they're not the softest option and may feel low-cushion to some runners. Several buyers found them comfortable enough to buy again, while others preferred more cushioned shoes for running.

  • The discount appears tied to the Revel 9 release, with older Revel 8 stock being cleared out. The current $64.95 price is also the highest in the past 30 days, so it's not the absolute lowest recent price.

Not a good price according to Amazon price history: "Over the past 30 days, the price of Brooks Men's Revel 8 Running Shoe has ranged from $59.95 to $64.95. The current price is $64.95, the highest in the past 30 days."

have a pair of Revels from basically a decade ago and have held up as a comfortable around-the-house shoe. initially used as jogging shoes and did a good job there but there are better solutions for running these days. they're on their last leg so may scoop another pair here for a new house shoe.
what did you recommend for the newer solutions

Reason they are this price is because the Revel 9 has been released so they are selling the old stock. Happens when a new version comes out.

I ordered a pair and after receiving and trying them on, I sent them back as they were too small and especially tight in the mid foot. Additionally, the tongue of these shoes is smaller than what I am used to, and the laces seem to be shorter than usual. These running shoes don't run true to size as other high-end brand running shoes do.
