Brooks Revel 8 comes across as a comfortable everyday trainer that also works well for walking, casual wear, and some jogging. The cushioning and support have eased foot and back pain for some wearers, and the fit is true to size for some, though others needed to size up, especially compared with Hoka. The main knocks are durability and feel, with reports of short lifespan, a cheap feel, and very little cushion. It is a solid value at this sale price, but not a standout for everyone.

  • The Revel 8 can feel comfortable for everyday wear and may work as an around-the-house option.

  • The Revel 8 can help reduce foot pain for people who previously felt pain in softer Hoka models.

  • The Revel 8 can fit true to size for some wearers, which can simplify ordering.

  • The deal price can be unusually low because Brooks rarely go on sale.

  • The Revel 8 may feel like it has almost zero cushion, which can be a dealbreaker for cushioning-focused runners.

  • The Revel 8 can have fit and entry quirks, including needing a shoehorn and dealing with a floppy heel pull tab.

  • The Revel 8 can run small for some buyers, making it difficult to get on and slowing the refund process when sold by a third party.

  • Brooks quality can reportedly decline over recent years, with some pairs wearing out in about six months.

Are these any good for Plantar Fasciitis? Not specifically looking for running shoes, mainly for daily use and walking about 12-15 miles per week.

Whether these will relieve Plantar Fasciitis pain depends on your feet, and where they need support… Probably worth going to a specialty shoe/running store that does custom fittings the first time you switch over to orthopedic shoes. I suffered with significant PF foot/heel pain, and tried all the treatments before going with custom orthotics and expensive shoes – – but it's totally made the difference.

They measured my feet, stride, weight distribution on a walking pad/scanner and had me test about eight different pairs of shoes from various manufacturers (including Brooks and Hokas) and I ended up with a Saucony pair. Also bumped me up to a 10.5 from the 9-9.5 I've worn my entire adult life, saying almost everyone in the U.S. wears shoes too tight and it causes all sorts of problems. The entire process was one of the best Customer Service experiences I've had in a long time.
