Wow, this is a new level of bending facts instead of giving the 1x change and MAYBE later mentioning the (MUCH) smaller AHAM number.

AHAM rates purifiers based on 4.8 air exchanges an hour (https://ahamverifide.org/ach-faq/) , this one claims: "Purify up to 250 square feet in just one hour. Perfect for bedrooms, home offices, nurseries, dorm rooms, apartments, and more. (Based on AHAM AC-1, at one air change per hour.)" so, if you're comparing it vs anything else using aham numbers you'll want to divide by 4.8 (giving a real clean air rating for rooms of up to 52 sqft). And that's before you use the filter for more than a year.... Also worth noting this does not use a carbon filter instead it uses its own smell to mask other smells which of course you have to purchase. Stay far away from this product line

You mixed up CADR and AHAM. CADR values are the air changes per hour, AHAM is the independent 3rd party lab that verifies the machine does what it claims

But yeah, Shark never change air purifier is absolute garbage

No I didn't - read my post again, the parts in quotes are directly lifted from the listing (that's the point of quotes, for when you quote something verbatim.) It claims to use AHAM, but at 1 change an hr which is not how AHAM does things (hence the link I included) the bit where THEY SAY "(Based on AHAM AC-1, at one air change per hour.)" is a word for word copy of the listing which is why I went to the length I did to show how this was EXTREMELY misleading and should not be considered a real AHAM number, 52sqft would be.

Also clean air delivery rate (CADR) is not the amount of square feet cleaned once in 1 hour it's the amount of cleaned Air put out by a cleaner in cubic feet per minute at maximum setting. To get from cadr to sqft (at 4.8 exchanges an hour) you would multiply the cadr by 1.5 assuming standard 8 ft ceilings - if you want to get from cadr to sqft at 1 change an hour you would multiply the cadr by 7.2 (again with standard ceilings)

Hope that clears it up 💜
