Everyone should have one of these in their hiking/boating/camping/RV/hunting/fishing/emergency kit(s).

Don't let it freeze after you use it or you'll ruin the filtration membrane.

If you backflush this filter when it slows down it can easily filter 10,000+++ gallons of water without the need to replace it.

The Sawyer Mini used to be $20 and this was closer to $30 about 5-6 years ago. They increased quite a bit a couple years ago, $31 is a great deal.

If you are a backpacker or a really avid survivalist/prepper this is a great deal. Highest portable filtration rate on the market with a solid flow rate. The mini has a frustratingly flow rate so generally avoid it.
I would also recommend the versa flow filter if you want a mini form factor on a budget. Much faster flow rate with worse but still completely acceptable filter rate than sawyer mini

Used to use these on multi-day hikes. Filter is good but the bag sucks because of its narrow mouth opening making it a PIA to refill. I changed to a wide mouth bag like Cnoc. Makes it easier to clean as well.

Same, used knockoff Cnoc from Amazon on my last hiking trip. It worked perfectly. Would highly recommend this filter and one of those style bags. I also carried in 2 large empty Smartwater bottles. Kept those filled at camp by squeezing the bagged water through the filter into each bottle.
