75 inch QM7L also on sale at $999 at Amazon. Is 8L vs 7L worth the extra $500?

The TCL QM8L is better than the TCL QM7L. Even though the QM7L is a very bright TV, the QM8L is brighter in both SDR and HDR, so it handles a bit more glare in a well-lit room and displays even brighter highlights in HDR. The QM8L also displays slightly more vivid colors, does a better job upscaling, and has deeper blacks with less haloing around highlights. However, the QM7L does a slightly better job reducing the intensity of direct reflections, even though both TVs don't excel in that area.

On paper. The 7L actually rates the same as the 8L at Rtings. 8.3. I'm gonna save some money and go with the 7L

Go with the QM7L. Rates the same as the 8L at Rtings. I need the 85" under $1300 though

The 75in qm9k was on sale for $1199 for a while at bestbuy and much brighter than this

This is far from a deal

They also had a 85in qm7k (last years version of this) for $999

8L has 2 extra 2.1 HDMI ports. SQD panel with better color gamut/volume, Will get the update to Dolby Vision 2 max which will help take advantage of the brightness. 9k is not much brighter, slightly brighter and that is only in PEAK highlight scenes/areas
