Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I have this and don't recommend it.

It is a little annoying to disassemble and clean, and does get kind of "funky" smelling pretty quickly, especially if you drink warm beverages like tea or warm water.

It is also not very convenient to use since it's a screw top cap, and you need to use 2 hands to open it and there's no attachment to the bottle so you also need to hold the cap while you drink, or find a clean place to put it down.

On the plus side, it is totally leak-proof when closed, and the ability to sip or pour is convenient. But I do find the pouring mode of drinking feels a little awkward with the straw spout in the way.

I feel like there are much better bottles out there, even from owala.

Not to mention putting a single ice cube in at a time, and being careful not to splash or spill when filling. My wife loves hers though so what do I know lol

What's the point of having stainless steel bottle if you have a plastic or silicone straw and top ?

Can anyone compare the base diameter to a standard 24oz FreeSip? I love mine, but it's a few millimeters too large for my car's cup holder.

Counter argument - I have this thing and I love it. It's great for travel since it's slim and fits in a backpack side pocket. I like that the lid doesn't open with the push of a button so accidental spills are unlikely. It's really not hard to twist off.
As for it getting smelly, it's no different than any other water bottle. If you're not washing it regularly of course it's going to stink.

These bottles all have "not for hot liquids" stamped on the bottom.

Mine does not have that stamp on the bottom. Also, the item description specifically says it can handle hot and carbonated beverages. If some have the stamp on the bottom, it is most likely to prevent lawsuits from people getting burned drinking really hot drinks through a straw.

I'm just talking about warm water. Like, not enough to burn you even if you chug it. The thing gets funky smelling pretty quick. Like within a day or 2.
