Bro! Stop with the CDMA/GSM insanity! These are dead technologies. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY (including Verizon) uses them anymore. Not working on CDMA means NOTHING!
Indeed, this phone might not work on Verizon, but it's because of Verizon's IMEI whitelist. It has ZERO to do with CDMA!!!
What are you talking about? This phone has a 144hz refresh rate, as opposed to the 120hz on the Pixels and iPhone. Hell, Apple only THIS YEAR finally gave the non-Pro model 120hz (60hz before).
Nothing Phone 4a Pro looks like a solid midrange Android with a fast 144Hz display, strong camera performance, and easy bootloader unlocking for root access. The build feels solid, and the Nothing software is part of the appeal. The main cautions are carrier support and network bands, especially on Verizon, where missing CDMA, mmWave, and band 13 can limit service in some areas. It also does not match Pixel or Samsung cameras, and the chipset is not flagship fast, making it a capable but not top-tier pick.
Buyers who want to try Nothing software without paying flagship prices, because the phone is not a flagship but still offers a polished experience.
It can work on Verizon, but support is limited because it lacks CDMA and does not support Verizon's mmWave bands n260/n261. It also lacks band 13, so coverage can be weak in buildings and rural areas.
The camera is described as really good for the $400 to $500 range, but it is not on the level of Samsung or Pixel cameras. It is a solid midrange camera rather than a flagship one.
Yes, it has a 144Hz refresh rate. That is higher than the 120Hz panels on current Pixels and iPhones, though one comment still describes the screen as feeling like a downgrade.
No. It is described as solid and good for the price, but not a flagship, and its chipset is said to feel no faster than a five-year-old OnePlus 9 in some use.
currently using a OnePlus 9 tmo edition that I bought brand new for $250. The chipset in this thing is only as fast as my five year old phone. In some ways it's slower. Not sure this is the deal for me. I do want to try out a Nothing phone though. The software supposed to be like OnePlus was back in the day.
For $400 to 500 its a pretty nice phone. It's solid and the camera is really good. I bought one too try it since I'm a OnePlus fan. It definitely isn't a flagship and isn't marketed as one. I ultimately went back to my OnePlus 13, but kept this as a spare.
