Since this is a chewable, it makes perfect sense people basically demand (and expect) the gummy to taste like candy. Which is likely why you are here. Otherwise just chew a normal pill and deal with the flavor. What would be unhealthy would be bunch of artificial sweeteners just to placate the dieters who think 20 calories is going to ruin their keto run.

FWIW if you consider 2 grams of sugar "a bunch"....you are going to need a lot more than a gummy vitamin sway you back to 'healthy.'

32.5mg of nitrates per gummy FYI. 100g of beet has about 250mg.

i'm with this guy. It's down right unhuman to not like sugar... so many aliens in this thread.

Also, I have some Vitamin D gummies that are easily top 5 best gummies i've ever had. Don't know what magic they worked but I look forward to that ONE GUMMIE a day I can eat.

Back on this subject, has anyone with high BP actually seen more than miniscule improvements from taking beets? Were you able to stop traditional BP meds?

To be honest, they add the sugar since most people would be repulsed at the taste of a pure beet chewable. But chewables are a joke for adults. Capsules are far superior...more potent and better absorption (and no sugar).

Interesting because my family doctor told me that chewables are better for absorption, so I changed to GNC chewable "Mega Men" vitamin.

Amen, I almost said "have you ever tasted a beet" but then I am sure the convo would have devolved into them pretending to love the taste of a root vegetable they've never eaten unprepared...while at the same time wanting (sugar free) candy flavored health items.

Like the people in EVERY Cranraisin thread imagining they'd actually eat a handful of straight cranberries without sugar because they lose sleep over the "added sugar" line not realizing an apple comes off the tree with more sugar per serving and the fact your body can't tell added sugar from natural sugar (as long as it is the same type). Sugar = sugar...

It depends heavily on the particular vitamin or medication. Most orally taken substances are absorbed in the small intestine, but some are unstable in stomach acid or are absorbed poorly there. Certain meds use coatings or formulations that protect them from the stomach or delay their release until the small intestine or another part of the digestive tract.

For the most part chewables are designed for people who have trouble swallowing or children. But there are plenty of meds that can't be prescribed in a chewable because of the above, and / or delayed release. Not to mention things that need to be injected, taken through the skin, or sublingual. There is no cheat code for getting a chemical or mineral into the body.
