Picked up a bedjet a while back.
What is so special about these sheets that you could not replicate with a few sheets and a sewing machine?

That's like asking what's so special about buying clothes that you could not replicate with fabric and a sewing machine.

I tried making my own. Didn't work.
Took a king sheet, folded it hotdog style and sewed it together with a few pinch points in the middle. Didn't really do anything.

I broke down and bought a twin cloud sheet. There is different material on the top vs bottom (there's a "this side up" tag) that allows more air through the bottom side that your skin touches.

If you could find the right material, you absolutely could make your own easily. It was out of my skill and desire.

Pro-tip, dont skip on the covers ontop of the cloud sheet.

Yeah, how dare someone try and save money by asking a basic question and seeing if they could make their own version of these.

Thank goodness you came around to shut them down.

But they weren't asking a question like "I wonder if it's possible to make to make these myself using a sewing machine and a few bed sheets" but rather "why would someone pay that money when I can just use a couple of bed sheets and a sewing machine". Those are very different.

i like how you quoted their question, but changed the quote to show it in how you perceived it, not how they asked it. if you truthfully thought they were "very different", you would have used a direct quote.

they didnt ask why someone would pay the money, or even mention money. they asked what was special about them that would keep someone from making their own.

but hey. you keep assuming the worst and keep being miserable to other people on the internet. im sure its a pleasant existence.

Well, congratulations. You've managed to write an entire paragraph criticizing me for interpreting someone's intentions, only to finish by making assumptions about my personality, my happiness, and apparently my entire existence. The irony is pretty spectacular.

You insist the original post never mentioned money, but yet your very first response defended them as someone "trying to save money." Fascinating. So when you infer financial motivation from a question that never mentions money, that's perfectly reasonable. But when I infer the exact same financial context, suddenly I'm guilty of putting words in someone's mouth. Apparently the rules for interpreting implied meaning depend entirely on who's doing the interpreting.

And since we're dissecting every word, let's revisit the original question:

"What is so special about these sheets that you could not replicate with a few sheets and a sewing machine?"

Now, we're on a deals forum, discussing a product that's on sale. The entire purpose of this forum is to discuss products, their prices, and whether they're worth buying. So suggesting that cost and value have absolutely nothing to do with that question because the person didn't explicitly use the word "money" is a rather impressive exercise in missing the context.

Sure, I paraphrased the original question to illustrate how I interpreted its implication. I wasn't presenting a verbatim transcript. If quotation marks were the issue, fair enough. But that doesn't invalidate the point I was making.

My response was simply an analogy. You can theoretically make your own clothes with fabric and a sewing machine, too. That doesn't mean there aren't perfectly valid reasons to purchase manufactured clothing instead. The same logic applies here. Whether something *can* be made yourself doesn't automatically answer what makes the manufactured item worthwhile.

You chose to interpret my analogy as an attempt to "shut someone down." Interesting, considering you're now lecturing me about assuming the worst of other people's comments. Apparently you're allowed to assign motives to my words, but I'm not allowed to interpret anyone else's. Funny how that works.

And as for your concern about my happiness and the pleasantness of my existence, I genuinely appreciate how invested you've become in my personal well-being over a discussion about bedsheets.

But I think I'll survive. LMAO

Why are people spending all this time to go back and forth at each other on questioning things like this? For those who knows and wants it, could be a deal? I haven't heard of this until today. I move on.

For those who dont think its worth it, just move on, they arent going to magically have a huge drop in prices. There are cheaper sheets as there are cheap leggings besides Lululemon. There are more important matters than analyzing a random person's reply online.

Ya they suggest the regular king sheet, which I do have and still wish they would make a cal king. I would sent a support request in. The more they see it being requested the more likely they are to make it. Ive even suggested to do a preorder and do a run once the limit is hit so it is all presold inventory.
