True, no excuse for a key card game. If this were the 2000s or the beginning of the 2010s, it would had been the entire game in the card. The dependece on the internet with these Companies is killing the gaming industry. Today you can get a NES, SNES, Genesis game insert it into the appropriate gaming console and it'll work as day 1. If the game is big, fabricate a bigger storage card or a high storage capacity bluray disc. It's just lame and predatory decisions to keep you paying for subscriptions.

Thank you for pointing this out, not buying this. I'll wait for a bigger digital sale or go physical on PlayStation.

$60 for a single LEGO game is too expensive. They all go on sale at high discounts about a year after release. Compound this with a fake physical game, and it's definitely not a "deal." Teach your kids about budgeting by having them spend their own money if they need the game that badly. And show them that they can buy all of the other LEGO games bundled together for the same price as this one.

What's wrong with it being a key card? It's more like digital +. You get the game but the bonus is you get the box too
Like anything there are pros and cons. You do get something physical with game key cards but the main thing physical collectors want is future proofing. When all the servers go down we want to be able to play a game without an internet connection. And you still have to have the memory available which is becoming more of a problem with today's memory prices. And it takes away the main advantage of a digital copy which is the convenience of switching game without having to get up off the couch. But you do get to sell the copy and lend it to a friend. So there is that. But when they can put Elden Ring and Cyberpunk on the cart itself there's no excuse for Lego Batman.

I'm not buying any keys unless they are at least 50% off.

The moment the servers are down your "physical copy" is worthless

That's the problem with key cards and XBOX games that 99% of the time are just download keys as well

SONY and Nintendo published titles are all on disc/card (thanks Sony for the braindead decision to stop disc production)
