Community Reviews
This Cricket iPhone 16e bundle is mainly attractive for getting a new 128GB phone with two months of service and a one year unlock path. The strongest appeal is for niche uses like iOS app testing, and the phone can also carry meaningful Apple trade in value. The main drawback is the ongoing service cost, which has been described as expensive compared with cheaper carriers and alternative phone deals. Port in activation can take a few tries, and the deal has reportedly worsened from earlier pricing.
Apple trade-in value of the iPhone 16e can support a lower effective cost after using the locked Cricket period.
The deal can work well for WiFi-only iPhone 16e testing and iOS app development needs.
The port-in process can be completed with eSIM transfer steps and the new phone can appear in the MyCricket app.
Switching to a cheaper Cricket plan after the initial higher-priced months can reduce ongoing service cost.
Port-in activation may succeed after multiple attempts when account verification is handled correctly.
The iPhone 16e is eSIM-only, which can complicate SIM swapping onto an existing Cricket family plan line.
Port-in activation can fail initially due to Cricket verification and canceled attempts.
The deal value can worsen when the phone price and service months total more than the advertised $170.
Trade-in value for the iPhone 16e can drop over time, which can reduce the deal's resale-based math.

if i build in the full retail price of the phone? the answer would be... literally everywhere
how bout this math instead. buy two for ~$300 (multi line discount) then go trade them in at apple for a faster unlocked 17e with twice the storage for $150, then buy any of the numerous $200/year plans for your nrw unlocked phone. total cost $650 for a better phone, factory unlocked, with higher resale value. was a much better deal like 6 weeks ago when the trade in was $310 each and the 17e was $100 cheaper, but still better than your math above
