Ugreen sucks, I would not trust their NAS at all. They can't even seem to make a reliably functioning card reader!
I thought they were pretty highly regarded?

They are.

I bought one to swap out from Synology. Their own proprietary OS can easily be replaced with TrueNAS. But most of the corporate functions are there.

I wish it would be easier to back up Google Drive and other clouds. with versioning, but I'm sure it will get there eventually

I'm backing up the cloud to my synology nas just fine. Truenas or nassync is the issue for you?

The MINISFORUM N5 Air is over 3x better in CPU performance and has a far better port selection with a full sized PCIE slot. Dual NICs with 10gb and 5gb too! You Can get it with 16GB of DDR5 for $720 or provide your own and get it without RAM (still has 64GB internal storage) for $520. I'd personally go this route for anyone looking to self-host things!

I have been using the 2-Bay version. Software wise, it works for me.

This is actually a good NAS if you're using it for Jellyfin or Plex Pass. The Intel Pentium Gold 8505 is decent for hardware transcoding.

I've had the 2 bay version since it launched. I think it's 10X better than Synology. That's a company that sucks IMO.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I've been using the UGREEN DXP4800 for a couple of years now. I didn't even bother with their OS and immediately installed TrueNAS. It's a good system, but can be rather noisy due to disk vibrations. I have to slip little pieces of paper under each one to absorb the vibration energy. Otherwise, it was a great upgrade from my ReadyNAS 104.

Which NAS did you have issues with?
