Lexivon torque wrenches are positioned as practical DIY tools, with the 1 2 inch drive best for wheels, suspension, and other under car work, the 3 8 inch for most engine and brake tasks, and the 1 4 inch for smaller fasteners and bike work. The 1 2 and 3 8 models are described as accurate, durable, and easy to use, with long term use on lug nuts and track cars. The main cautions are that the 1 4 inch has a reported click failure, the adjustment increments feel coarse, and the promo price can require refreshing the Prime product page.

Interesting (annecdotal) read on torque wrenchs and their accuracy based on cost/longevity use:
https://grassrootsmotorsports.com...-accurate/

General lesson- get the cheap stuff it still works fine.

I'm only getting 26% off ($74.97 - $19.49) on the 3/8 inch with code B21DM3UZ. Is there a coupon too? Not seeing it on mobile

Which size should I use if I want to start working on basic car stuff, like torquing down my wheels after installing a wheel lock?

Wheels and large fasteners 1/2 is better and you will need more than 100 ft lbs on heavy duty fasteners like bumpers and frames and suspesion on trucks.
Engine work is often 3/8 but aluminum and small fasteners you may need less than 20ft-lb this one specs down to.
Bicycles and small engines you want a 1/4 that is scaled in IN-LB (not Foot Pounds) or N-M.

I have had their 1/2 in for 5 years and the 3/8 for almost 3 and they have been great with good accuracy for the work I do.

The first time the code for the 1/2" only takes off $18.49 for me $61.58+tax. Make sure when you're on the product page, it's showing the exclusive Prime prices before adding to the cart. I revisited / refreshed the product page and it showed up and got it for $49.26+tax.

Funny, and my apologies for this not actually being an answer. I came here to ask the same question, comparing this to the Harbor Freight Pittsburgh line of torque wrenches. I've heard some pretty great things about the Pittsburgh wrenches.

For that matter, how is this one any different from the multitude of options on Amazon, where you can often get wrench "sets" covering all three sizes for less than the price of just one of these?

3/8". Rarely do wheels need more than around 100 in a car. Very few items a backyard DIYer will do on a car are more than that, and doubly highly unlikely as a beginner DIYer. Pickup trucks are where you start to see 140-175, and even then a minority of.
