Community Reviews
Canyon e-bikes are coming across as premium builds with Bosch drivetrains, Shimano components, and integrated frames, and the pricing looks especially strong for the spec level. The Pathlite and Precede:ON models stand out for commuter and all around use, while the ON 5 brings a faster 28 mph assist and a 625 Wh battery versus the ON 4's 20 mph setup and 500 Wh pack. The main cautions are Prime only pricing, a warranty process that can be difficult without a nearby dealer, and replacement batteries that can cost more than the bike. A solid value play if the sizing and support setup work for you.
The ON 5 Mid-Step's Performance Line Speed motor supports assisted speeds up to 28 mph.
The ON 5 battery capacity is 625 Wh, which is 25% more than the ON 4's 500 Wh.
The bike can arrive with only minor cosmetic issues, and the front wheel alignment may be fixable through seller contact.
Canyon bikes can offer strong specifications for the price, including a Grail ON CF 7 AXS described as having nuts specs.
Canyon warranty service can be difficult, including possible denials and worse outcomes without a nearby dealer.
Replacement batteries can cost more than the entire bike, which raises long-term ownership risk.
The ON 5 SUV upgrade may feel unnecessary for mostly flat riding when the extra cost targets fenders, rack, and battery.
Some deliveries can include a damaged shipping box, paint scratches, and misaligned front wheel alignment on arrival.

For a flat-ish surface and trails - doesn't feel like that to me, but I dunno

I previously posted a deal on the ON 7 here:

YMMV if the same problems happen to future owners.

Only if you have trouble reading or purposely trying to create your own narrative. The reviews I read (for the most part) gave their experiences and why they thought it wasn't good.

ON CF 7 AXS in medium for sale for 2300 and I grabbed this a couple weeks ago and the bike is awesome. Specs are nuts for the price. Canyon has kinda weird bike sizes so a medium is closer to a large for other brands so be careful.
