SmartTag3 is locked to the OS of the device it is set up on. You cannot set it up on a Galaxy device and use it on the iOS Find My network. It will only work within the network where you first set it up.

Also, from my last research, the Galaxy Find My network is much larger than Google Find My.

It was previously the case that the Galaxy network was much larger than the Google equivalent, but that was because Google botched the launch by making android phones opt-in instead of opt-out like Samsung and iPhone. They've since reversed that, and the Google network is now larger.

From what I understand, the cross-platform compatibility only means that they can be used with iphones. Since they use Samsung's Galaxy Find network, apple phones still will not track or help detect the SmartTag 3 (and Apple will probably never allow it).

I'm using smarttag 2 with my pixel. I just installed the smarthings app from an external source and not from Google play.
And it's working better than find my device

I have found it to be the best of the networks and that wasn't always the case. My wife is on iPhone and I am on Samsung, and when we do things like track our luggage in an airport, same spot, SmartTags vs. Airtags, the Samsung tags are always more accurate.

I hate these. They always disconnect and batteries die quickly. Tile was superior. I with I never bought them, what a waste of money
