Just ordered Blink cameras, doorbell and sync module xr+. Looked for 256gb micro sd card, and found that a mount for the sync module xr (not the +) is priced under $20 and includes a 256gb card that seems to meet specs for the xr+. Am i missing something, other than understanding the card is not a brand name or anything, it seems like a deal. Can throw away the mount, and the card is by far cheaper than just ordering the card....

Blink only records short motion‑triggered clips, not 24/7 video.
That means the card doesn't need to be "high endurance" or specialized for constant overwriting. Granted, I am sure high endurance would be superior.

YMMV

If you look at the reviews..

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT trust the microSD card or card reader
Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2026
Can't speak for the mount, because I don't have a Blink Sync Module, but the MicroSD card and USB card reader are fraudulent, falsely advertised items that will result in data loss and poor read/write times if you trust their labels. The "256 GB" microSD card is actually only a generic 64 GB card that is fraudulently labeled as 256 GB. It also has 'V30' printed on it, meaning it should be able to consistently write data to the card at a minimum speed of 30 MB/s for reliable continuous video recording. I tested it and got less than 17 MB/s read speed and less than 10 MB/s write speed. For comparison, a real V30 microSD card like a Samsung EVO Select would reasonably test with greater than 80 MB/s read/write speeds.

Drive capacity and transfer speed tests were done with ValiDrive and CrystalDiskMark, as shown in my screenshots. I used an Acer USB 3.0 microSD card reader (model ODK4E0) to check the card. I didn't even bother using the included "USB 3.0 SDXC MicroSDXC Reader" to test, because I could visibly see that the USB A connector only has four connection pins. That included card reader would be USB 2.0 at best, since it doesn't have the additional five pins (nine total) that would be expected on anything with a USB 3.0 connection or better.
