A lot of Type-C devices won't work due to lack of power from USB-A.

Orico really should do power input and output BC 1.2 at this point minimum. It's 2026. Like ten cents guys.

They should also add individual on-off buttons like Sabrent has on their hubs. It's super usefu.l

What's the point of this device with it being USB-A?

In theory... This lets you use a USB-C keyboard or something very low powered with a couple of USB-A devices on an older computer.

In practice, a lot of people will buy it and find out that the hub doesn't supply enough power, and fail to return it.

That would help with power sharing. You have 2.5W on most systems being shared on three devices, one of which is Type-C... That's rough.

What Type-C devices do you have in mind?

5G phones all will suffer draining faster than they charge over USB today. Phones and tablets are the top example.

Ah, charging phones. Last week, I bought two hubs with 3 USB-A and SD and Micro-SD card reader for $6 each. I'd rather they had 10 Gbps speed than 10W or 20W charging (they don't have).

It's not so much charging as just maintaining power. If you use 5G over USB, that phone is going to drain faster than it charges.

You really need the 1.2Amp that BC 1.2 provides to keep it going.

Also for disc burners. Coming back into style because of the data storage crisis.
