I have the 3/8" version of this and it's pretty sweet, I really like how small it is. I would love to swap this for my mid torque as I mostly use it for lug nuts. This subcompact should be plenty but it's also a good second impact if you already have a mid or high torque without lugging those around. Probably blowing these out for the nukes.

This is definitely sub-compact. Only 250lbs of breakaway torque. Might not break lug nuts free

Just got this from your last deal, but with free shipping for signing up for texts. Seems a little heavy for a subcompact, not sure how it compares to other brands.

I barely got mine yesterday. Haven't had a chance to test it.

Project Farm did an episode on subcompact impact wrenches. Check it out: https://youtu.be/AlVbWvvYzE0

Thanks! I was worried I was going to have to focus on work for a minute!

The video is for the 3/8ths version, but the comparison charts at the end show weight and size. The ridgid is 3.58 lbs, pretty similar to most of the lower weight ones but it was tested with a 4ah battery, not the 2ah one this one comes with. The only one significantly lighter is the M12 at 3.09 lbs, which is what I would get if I didn't already have the Ridgid high torque and batteries.

I didn't catch the size and different model than this. The 3/8 was far slower than most. It did ok with 192 ft lbs of torque. This seems like a good deal if a person's looking for a 1/2. I already have a 1/2 and a 2 3/8ths. Told the wife it's my collection buying too many drivers and impacts and hammer drills 😁
I think this is the vender I ordered some other blems and it was new. Not a scratch on it. To me the factory didn't want to let their extra or closeout product to be sold "new" at a low price so called them "blem" instead. I don't like "open box" but their stuff seems perfect in my limited experience with 3 items.

Yes they qualify for LSA..
They call them 'Factory Blems' so as not to undercut the pricing of the same 'New' tools at Home Depot.

What do you use it for? That's really the main factor.

Keep in mind that currently there're 2 versions of the mid torque. One is brushed (kit, R86215K, $90) while the other is brushless (kit, R86012K, $168). That's quite a bit of a price difference.

One poster on a different thread said that the R86215 was an entry level. I did not get to validate that.

I myself was going to get the brushed mid-torque for its value. I will primarily use it to rotate tires and other car projects. Nothing major. I ended up going with the brushless subcompact, which is plenty for my use case.

I wouldn't need it for a ton besides tires. If I have a major project, my kid has a few high-end torque wrenches he uses for work (CAT mechanic)...and he'd do it anyways. He moved out over the summer so I'm pretty much without good tools at this point...just the basics. Sounds like I should go with subcompact and call it a day

I'm assuming the tires are off passenger cars or small SUVs/trunks. If that's the case, I'd go with the subcompact, enough for the job without the extra weight.
