Great series. Book 1 can be a little rough at times but the concepts and characters are great. Easy answer at this price, plus get the Audiobook for $5.xx more (Jeff Hays is amazing!)

I've fallen head first into this series finishing the 4th audio book in week 4. I've started the 3d prints and even ordered the tshirts. I highly recommend the SoundBooth Theater audio books if you are interested (or for some, the re-read).

These are a whole lot of fun, and I really enjoy the world-building. I'm on book four and I'm having a blast.

Finished the book but wasn't into it. I'm a big gamer not so much an RPG or D&D guy but the book is so granular about all the power up and stuff I just got bored. The beginning is way too much tutorial as well. IDK I'm sure some people will be into it I just didn't find it that funny or interesting.

I've been through the series twice now on the sound Booth theater audiobooks and I could not imagine reading these when I have the audiobooks. They are phenomenal.

I think you would really like the Audiobooks. I thought the first one was ehhh and I got a good deal on the audible book and I went through books 1-8 twice now in the last 2 months and I am thinking of listening to them again.

This "first taste is cheap" makes a lot of sense because once you start you want more. I recommend the audiobook over the ebook due to the amazing voice talent (which is, unbelievably, just one guy... like, holy crap he is talented), but they're the same story so both are good.
The SoundBooth version is also good, but a bit much for just dipping your toes into it -- it has music and sound effects and such, though very worth it after being obsessed and needing more.

Agreed. I started with the immersion tunnel for the first two then restarted with the vanilla audiobooks and am finishing book 6 now (:

Great series. Like Harry Potter it gets darker as the series progresses.

How can I get the audiobook that cheap? It's $22.50 on Audible.
