This is getting to a pretty reasonable price. I wish the game was easier to solo. During their last free trial I tried for a couple hours and couldn't complete a single mission because even the AI was intense, I would find a bot and kill it but that shooting alerted half a dozen other bots in the area and I kept getting killed.

i had two friends put about 100 hours into this game and we enjoyed it for the most part. I don't think it deserved the ire it received. we stopped playing a bit ago but are planning on jumping back in once they implement all the new changes sometime next year.

I think their revamp has a chance.

IDK... It has a high budget, I don't think they can justify the development expense with free model.

I also tried it during a free weekend and didn't want to buy. It's a niche game for enthusiasts. All the more reason it can't be a free game for mass appeal.

I doubt it. I think this game is dead and they know it, which is why they're releasing old Destiny content. This was a game no one asked for in a fringe genre, and it shows.

If I could play this on SteamOS, I would have played it more. I see how they incorporate pieces of Destiny raid puzzle mechanics, and that's kind of cool.

But I get everyone who says it's a niche genre. Bungie interviews/ads said they knew (before release) that it wasn't going to be a game for everyone, but I think it shocked them (and their budget) just how few it appeals to.

It wasn't the Bungie or Marathon game I wanted. I would have absolutely loved a remake of the original Marathon, and it's kinda cool that this is a reimagining... but there's 0 interaction with the narrative, it's like OG Destiny's Grimoire but worse. This is going to have to make the changes Fallout 76 had to make, to bring me back. And it's not just HARD... I beat all the Halo games on legendary, but NuMarathon is stressful. I'm trying to unwind after work, not no-life the game.

I loved the original Marathon games...not sure why they chose this direction instead of a remake.

You know you're releasing a game not everyone wants... Then be surprised it didn't sell being how niche it is. Like, are they that dumb?
