Very good looking and super comfortable shoes but mine didn't last more than 3 months there's a reason why adidas is trying to get rid of them for a low price tag

What happened at 3 months? If it's truly boost foam it shouldn't wear out that quick.

The Ultraboost 5X comes across as a very comfortable walking and light running shoe with a soft, supportive feel and a thicker sole than earlier Ultraboost versions. It looks good, handles long daily walks well, and the current price around $50 after tax is framed as a strong value. Fit can be tricky because the opening is hard to get into and the shoe runs narrow. Durability concerns also show up, including mesh that can cut easily outdoors, squeaking, and reports of pairs wearing out or developing holes within months.

Common Questions (5)

  • They can hold up well for daily walking and indoor work shifts, with one pair lasting 200+ miles of 8-10 miles a day while keeping cushion and appearance. But there are also reports of pairs falling apart in about 3 months or developing holes in the foam, so rough use may shorten their life.

  • The shoe can feel narrow and is reported to be hard to get your foot into, even when sizing up by half a size. That makes fit and entry a common concern for people with wider feet or high insteps.

  • Yes, they are described as a strong walking shoe with soft cushioning and good comfort over long daily walks. At around $50 after tax, they are also viewed as a solid value for that use case.

    richycoxWiseOstrich527

  • The upper is a delicate fine mesh that feels comfortable and supportive, but it can snag and cut easily outdoors. It is better suited to indoor use or smoother surfaces than trail running or other rough contact.

    arm&hammer

  • They can squeak loudly, and that has been a deal-breaker for some wearers. The issue is notable enough that it may matter if you want a quiet shoe for indoor use.

Unless I am seeing it wrong, all sizes are available at this price unless out of stock (which is size 7 for now)

I bought one. I finally replace my original ultraboost. I don't know what major differences are for the "5X" version but I only use it as walking shoes so it should be fine. Thanks OP. ~$50 after tax is a pretty good deal. I paid $90 many years ago and I remember that was a good deal.

These look and feel great but they are not durable at all. I bought 2 pairs. One fell apart within 3 months. The other is still good so far except aesthetically, there are many mysterious holes in the foam now from normal wear.

You're right, I edited it to remove that. I got confused by the 2 shoe size selectors.

That's crazy, how is your heel not worn out but the front is? Are you walking on tippy toes?

Totaly true the upper on these is a delicate fine mesh. SOon as I got them went for a run. On my first run great fit, good width and very comfortable and supportive, but at mile 10 my foot hit a twig on the trail, the twig fliped up and hit the top and got a small cut on the top of the shoe. Mad Great indoor shoe but not for outdoors.
