Depends what you want. If you're going to be doing mobile gaming or want to use a stylus, get the S25 Ultra, but if you want the best looking photos, best Android experience and best AI integration, get the Pixel 11 Pro or Pro XL. I own an S24 Ultra which is very similar to the S25 Ultra, and I very much prefer my Pixel 10 Pro over it, but it's a subjective detemination.
Google's Pixel 11 Pro is coming through as a strong Android flagship for camera quality, smooth animations, and productivity focused use, with the unlocked model also appealing to anyone who wants bootloader flexibility and the option to run GrapheneOS. The 256GB version is noted as having 12GB of RAM, while the 7 years of Android, security, and Pixel Drop updates make the $834 price easier to justify over time. The main knocks are heat concerns, weaker gaming appeal than Galaxy phones, and a fingerprint scanner that feels worse to some. A polished pick if camera and Android experience matter more than gaming.
Android power users who want an unlocked phone for custom ROMs, because the bootloader can be unlocked and GrapheneOS can be installed.
Mobile photographers who care most about image quality, because the camera is repeatedly described as excellent and the photos beat other Android flagships.
Productivity-focused professionals who want a phone that can double as a desktop, because it supports monitor output and is described as better for work than gaming.
Some Pixel owners report overheating and poor performance compared with Snapdragon phones, especially on carrier models. Others report no heating issues on the 11 Pro XL bought directly from Google.
It can be cheaper through the Google Store if you have a 10% off coupon and a strong trade-in, and Google One members may also earn store credit. At the same time, Google's 7 years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates make the cost per year low.
The unlocked Google/retail Pixel can be bootloader-unlocked, which is the prerequisite for installing GrapheneOS. Carrier-sold versions like Verizon's may have a locked bootloader and are not guaranteed to be unlockable.
It is positioned more for productivity, work, photos, and Android/AI features than for gaming. For mobile gaming or stylus use, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the better fit.

This is right. It's really more about what you want out of a phone.
If it's productivity and work first, a Pixel is better.
Got my pro for 650 at verizon... I am now really wondering wtf I bought it. It heats up bad... it sucks compared to snapdragon chips and the bootloader is locked. This one however, you can install gangrene OS. It also has 16gb of ram and can use it as a desktop if you hook it up to a monitor.
are you gaming on the phone? I got the verizon deal and the phone has been really good, especially the camera and smooth animations.

Actually, 11 series isn't compatible with GrapheneOS because it doesn't meet their security standards (and that likely won't change.) Combine that with the fact that they're shipping 11s with less RAM than the 10s, and this generation is a big skip for me!

Verizon stuff is bootloader locked. Happened to me on a somy xperia phone. Same problems of heating up with a 10 pro too

Thanks. I am on the Pixel(6), wife tried and went right back to Samsung after her Pixel 8 had microphone issues so that is permanently strapped into a Gamesir with only Moonlight installed, pretty much never gets used though. I am on my third Pixel with no issues though, so still a bit undecided. I don't really do mobile gaming but the idea of retiring the phone as an emulator in five years has me leaning Snapdragon.

That's the problem with Pixels. The MSRP is basically the same and you're getting a garbage chip. I have S24 Ultra and also a 10 Pro XL Pixel and I do prefer the photos on the Pixel, everything else the Samsung. Google really needs to go back to Snadragon chips. Pixel phones over heat bad too beyond basic tasks. Pixel phones should only be bought at a significant discount and i don't consider this it.

Be more specific on the RAM as 256Gb version only has 12GB of RAMs.
Friendly reminder that Google guarantees 7 FULL YEARS of Android OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates for the 11 Pro series. You're covered all the way through 2033! Buying at $834 means your cost-per-year breakdown is ridiculously low.

The 256GB Pixel 11 Pro comes with 12GB of RAM. The 16GB RAM spec applies to other configurations, not this 256GB model.
