I use this scope as a FNP in UC practice. It's amazing! Slightly heavier around the neck than the classic, but well worth it for the acoustic difference. It's a steal at this price.

Still rocking my master classic purchased used 20+ years ago for ~$100 (replace tubing every few years) otherwise would jump on this.
I lost my Littman and ended up using a $30 stethoscope and let me tell you: there is no reason to spend over $30 for a stethoscope. The less expensive ones are fantastic.

All the younger doctors that I have seen are using their stethoscopes incorrectly so I don't even know why they bother listening. When I trained, the professors in charge of physical diagnosis were very specific on how to optimize the placement of their stethoscopes to check for heart sounds, murmurs, breath sounds, bowel sound, etc. They make the mistake of listening through multiple layers of clothing which will decrease auscultation and don't know when to use the bell versus the diaphragm. The doctors' stethoscope skills are rapidly deteriorating to the point that they may as well be an orthopedist that listens to the "pod point' where they can hear the heart, lung, abdomen, and bones at the same time.

Have to 100% agree. Several of my attendings during residency used the cheap. disposable stethoscopes that came in the isolation kits. I personally use a cheap amazon one.

Not only incorrect placement, but understanding that you have to use different diaphragm pressure against the skin to pick up different sounds. It's sad.And then there's the docs that say they don't need a better scope than the cheapies, but will readily ask to "borrow" the good scope they see around your neck. SMH
