The Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight game is very tempting at $48.99. But surely it'll be down a little more come Black Friday/Cyber Monday? I guess I'll hang on a little longer and see.

Still surprised to see Forspoken at this price (over $20 on sale). I know it was blasted as Gen Z trash when it came out but for a few bucks I imagine it would be entertaining. I'd try it for $5 but not $21

Some decent deals but I'm not buying anything digital from them.

I have so many rental purchases from previous sales (AKA backlog) that if I am not playing it now, then I am not buying it now. Also, I'm actually Buying more physical these days.

I agree in principle, but in reality I doubt most people will play these long enough to outlast the time available on Sony's servers. I won't.

Plus, digital is so much more convenient than disk. My PS5 is tucked away and being able to click and play and not look for the disk is so nice.

Picked up 007 First Light. Have been waiting for a PS5 sale on this game, plus got an extra 20% off after the Costco PSN gift card deal yesterday. Thanks OP.

It's not just Sony server availability but also inability to play if for some reason you don't log into psn every 30 days you'll get bricked from your digital purchases as of a couple of months ago. Sure no one expects to be without internet in this day and age but other things could prevent it, including psn account issues, ISP issues, Sony or your internet getting hacked, maybe more scenarios we can't predict now. That's on top of Sony being able to pull access to games over things like legal/royalty issues. In the past those games would come off ps store but stay on your hard drive. Now they could get bricked. Personally my appetite for digital sales is a lot less following Sony's moves this year.

Ok, fair. Do what makes you happy. But seems more like edge cases to me, and the economy is tight but we're not talking about a ton of money here.

That 30-day bricking rule actually turned out to be a widespread misunderstanding from earlier this year.

What happened was Sony rolled out a system update to combat an exploit where people were buying digital games, going completely offline, and then requesting a full refund on the website while keeping the downloaded game offline indefinitely.

When players noticed a 30-day timer pop up on newly purchased games, rumor spread fast that you had to connect online every 30 days forever or lose your games. Sony and multiple tech outlets clarified that it is a one-time check. Once the initial license check passes (which happens automatically while you're online), the license turns permanent on your primary console and you can play offline indefinitely.

As long as your console is set as your Primary PS4 or has Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled on PS5, your purchased games aren't going to locked out after 30 days offline. 🙂

People don't ever consider their time, rather than money. I played a little over 20 hours of Forspoken when it was on PS+ Extra. I wanted to give it a really fair shot. It sucked. It's not worth the time to play if someone gives you a copy.

People really need to stop saying "Soulsborne." Idk why that ever became a thing. It's just Souls-like. Bloodborne is a Souls-like, so it makes zero sense to add "borne." We don't say, "Soulskiro" or "Soulsring."
