How do these actually work during an outage? Run extension cords from things like your fridge or AC that you want to keep power to? Or can you wire to your breaker so you can have things like lights?

Plug into a transfer switch. I run my Bluetti AC500 24/7 that way

I really appreciate the info. When you use a transfer switch is it an immediate switchover when power goes out?

It is always running off the Bluetti so there is never a cutover. The Bluetti recharges itself from a plug in the wall (not a plug on the transfer switch) so the transfer switch is always getting power from Bluetti. I have solar into the Bluetti also. I can also use my Kia EV's into the Bluetti if sun doesnt shine for a week.

The transfer switch is always running off the bluetti? Or your panel? If the latter that seems like unnecessary wear and conversion losses.

The transfer switch is powered from the Bluetti system. The Bluetti has built-in software controls that allow it to remain online and operate continuously 24/7. The system is configured so that power from the main electrical panel is routed through the Bluetti and then supplied to the transfer switch, which feeds the designated loads in the backup subpanel.
I'm currently working on a similar configuration using two Apex 300 units operating in parallel with the Hub A1. The goal is to have the two units function as a combined power source while maintaining continuous power to the transfer switch and backed-up loads

Neat. I'm going to look into that. Thanks!
