I did not have a membership before. I was able to sign up for the $1 trial for the first month. Then instantly went to manage my subscription and cancel. The 50% offer was there and I was able to sign up for $49, starting after the $1 first month.

Tried canceling and received the 50% off popup, renewal next year @ $49 not lucky to get free or $29 but still happy. I value w+ membership more than having a prime membership.

Like everyone has said, if you don't see it immediately in the Walmart+ section of the app, just go to manager membership and tap the cancel button. I immediately got the 50% off offer. After claiming it, it kicks you back to the membership screen. My renewal date now says November 16 at $49. It previously said $98.
