Gordon Ramsay shows

I find myself going back and rewatching Kitchen Nightmares and Hell's Kitchen, but not really any of his other shows.

I know there is a level of fakeness to all these shows, but seeing failing restaurant owners get reamed out for their bad habits never gets old. And watching the drama on Hell's Kitchen among the teams is more entertaining than Ramsay yelling at them when they mess up.

Kitchen Nightmares is my comfort rewatch too. The staged parts get obvious after a few seasons, but the core pattern is real: owners who stopped listening to customers and staff. Hell's Kitchen feels more like a gameshow to me. Which era do you prefer, the early UK Kitchen Nightmares or the US ones?

I agree there's often the same formula: all the food sucks, the owner/chef insists it doesn't, Gordon almost gives up but doesn't and decides to do the refresh -which is always "amazing" even when it looks like they did nothing -and on launch night some kind of hiccup threatens to ruin the night. Saved by some kind of common-sense adjustment and suddenly the service is going super smooth!

I like the early era UK ones, they have a really different vibe from the later series. But I tend to go back to the 2007 series and watch it over again. Dillon's had to be one of the most disgusting places he's ever been to.
