APPLE: Inflate the price 400% Then run 10% off sales....
Yeah it's sad they're moving this model. Like some fast fashion retailers where they pretend like MSRP is MSRP and it's always on sale to create a sense of urgency
M4 Mac Mini with 16GB cost me $499 with student discount last year. Plenty fast for years to come. These new prices are far too high IMO
I got my M4 for $423 after 5% cash back with my Micro Center credit card. I upgraded the internal storage to 2GB, and it's faster now. No reason to pay almost triple the M4 price for a 30% to 40% gain in speed.

Same here, grabbed mine at BB for $400 and had $200 RZ points to get it cheaper and it runs really fast and smooth everyday even plays some games decent. These new prices are crazy for any hardware anymore. Thanks AI.
With the edu discount, trade-in, and Apple card, the Apple Store is a better deal. For example, I traded in my M4 mini for $565 after running it day and night with Ollama. The hardware value is crazy, basically double the price considering I only paid $499 with the edu discount for mini. I do not know if definately worth it for you if you use; I am just saying it costs $5 for gas plus this, but my salary has not increased in that proportion.

I bought a Intel Pentium 5 for $5 yesterday...that too before cashback
