It is a very good price for a good reliable stethoscope. I have used mine for more than 15 years without issues. I probably will buy another one as a backup just incase. Love Littmann.

I'm a surgical subspecialist that absolutely never uses stethoscopes but I got one anyway cuz it's so cheap. Gotta say, it's definitely better than the crappy one I had in med school and the middling one I got as an intern. There's a reason Littman is the gold standard.

Still feels quite expensive for a pice of silicone and two tubes. Yes, an established brand, but still can't justify the price.

It's actually the part that you put on the patient (bell/diaphragm) that you're paying for and it differentiates not just this established brand from crap but this Cardiology IV from the Classic. Definitely worth the price. That said it's a lot cheaper to just ask for the lost and found at the nurses station.

Go ahead and keep using disposable stethoscopes then

Worked in a Neuro Trauma ICU for over 20 yrs. These Littmans are legit really good. You don't need the fancy super expensive ones. This is really all anyone will ever need. Saying that, I never owned one. I just always borrow everyone else's. 😂

Good deal… might actually have to buy my own

Using one of these is almost like hearing for the first time compared to other stethoscopes

Now if only folks knew how to use them, and would. Spent 36 years in critical care/EM and it still blows my mind, 7 years after retiring, watching folks push down hard on the bell side and putting the ear pieces in backwards. At least the Littmanns make it easier to guess which way the ear pieces should point. They're a great shift away from the 30 lbs. HP stethoscopes from the 80's/90's (if you know, you know). For students, these are great to learn with. Go listen for abdominal/femoral/carotid bruits, listen over dialysis stents, listen for actual murmurs/gallop rhythms (HTN patients/CHF patients), and for those with CTS access, go listen to any CABG patient within 24-48 hrs. post-op and you can hear what a pericardial rub sounds like. Gave a new one of these to a niece who just graduated nursing school last spring and all her classmates wanted to listen to patients with hers because of what she was able to hear.

Also, Littmann will support this stethoscope for a long time. The material for the tubing won't turn sticky and you can hear patients heartbeat and lungs much more clearly. I've never had a need for this quality of stethoscope but when I was riding on the bone box, I always had a more basic Littmann.
