Under 8 cents per liner (~$9.48 for 125) is a great price for unbleached/silicone-coated paper. Compare that to washing the sticky grease out of the air fryer wire basket every single night and damaging the nonstick coating with scrub sponges—this pays for itself in soap and hassle.

Don't these severely diminish the effectiveness of the air frying?

The entire purpose of the air fryer basket is that air circulate around the food, these completely block the air. You're creating trash to make your device work worse.

It would seem that way, wouldn't it?

But Alexa on the site reports:
"Customers consistently report that food cooks and crisps normally when using these liners — including bacon, fries, wings, and chicken. The paper doesn't interfere with air circulation or heat transfer.
Customers specifically mention that crispy results compare well to cooking directly on the basket, making these great for getting the texture you want while keeping cleanup minimal."

Ali xp sells these for much cheaper. You can get larger ones that hold more and fit the air fryer better. Straight from Amazon though, this is a decent price. We use these and they work very well. They don't affect the air frying in any noticeable way, and keep crumbs and grease from getting everywhere.

I think the same way too but it seems to work. Like how some people wear long sleeves in the summer to stay cool.

I use liners, but that comment is just straight untrue.

That one has a lower max temperature rating which means it probably isn't using a food grade silicone layer in it. That can be a pro or a con depending on your feelings on food grade silicone layers but it does mean your paper liner will hold up in your air fryer at 420-450+ instead of breaking down in the 400-430 range.

Edit: For what's it worth both after reading both products descriptions they both say they are using silicone layers one just refers to it as silicon oil and the other silicone layer which are exactly the same thing so it's weird that one is listing the standard non-silicone temp rating and the other the standard silicone rating. Both have quite a few 1 star reviews for catching fire at lower temperatures but that's more the air fryer or users fault than the liners fault most of the time as some air fryers get hotspots that reach 50-100 degrees hotter than the rest of the area.

Also if you change the count to 250, 350, 500 etc the 500 count is like 4-5 cents per at only 10% off (20% with S&S) whereas the 125 count is 8 cents per at 40% off... So if you need a smaller amount it's not a bad deal but the larger amounts are all cheaper despite the lower discount on them.

They have these with holes punched out for anyone worried about heat circulation. BTW don't put these in without food on top or they get sucked up into the heating element and catch on fire. Ask me how I know.

In my experience they don't seem to impact airflow enough to have much impact. If you have a lot of items that lay flat across the bottom like patties etc I've noticed it's best to flip them halfway or put some other food item under an edge to allow airflow or you get uneven cooking on them with liners. For anything round or oddly shaped that doesn't sit flat I've noticed little if any difference at all when using liners vs not.

Wouldn't this contaminate the food due to its silicone layer and chemicals in the paper?

I won't trust items made in China that touches my food directly, especially in high heat.

That defeats the purpose of using the liner.
