These parchment air fryer liners are mainly about easier cleanup and simpler food removal, while still letting food cook and crisp normally for many basket foods. They help catch crumbs and grease, keep the drawer cleaner, and can make it easier to lift out fries, wings, chicken, or flatter foods. The main caution is airflow and fire risk, since liners can shift or ignite if used empty or without food holding them down. A practical pick if cleanup matters more than using the bare basket.

Wouldn't this contaminate the food due to its silicone layer and chemicals in the paper?

I won't trust items made in China that touches my food directly, especially in high heat.
This irrational and paranoiac bias against Chinese products is silly. The products they export are the same ones the Chinese use themselves. Do you really think the Chinese want their citizens to get sick? And they definitely don't want their reputation damaged internationally. In fact, the Chinese have some of toughest enforcement when it comes to food and medicine. A main driving force is their reputation as the world's factory. Violators have been executed, e.g. executives in the melamine milk scandal.

Wife almost burned the house down with a paper liner. The liner started on fire and lit up the oils on the bottom.
Yeh. Should stay in kitchen when cooking. You will smell the paper toasting before it ignites. But the problem is you can only use them in the one use/as seen on tv kitchen appliance "airfryer" and not a convection oven.

To keep the liners from flying into the heating element, I place a heat-resistant aluminum trivet on top of the parchment liner and food to hold it down. Something like the one attached, except mine is square and looks somewhat different. I think it came as an accessory to an older Instant Pot.

I also use a silicone air fryer liner for certain foods, such as breaded chicken tenders or fish sticks. The raised ledges(?) at the bottom of the liner help elevate the food off the floor. I found it's best to flip the food midway through cooking. Even though the silicone liner is easier to clean than cooking without one and is microwaveable, it still needs cleaning. I use parchment liners for food that's harder to clean.

I tried using air fryer magnets, but they were way more trouble than they were worth.
Just to make you aware, the trivet you have pictured as well as over 95% of similar wire-type trivets, no matter if they are round, square, or rectangular, are made of chrome-plated STEEL, not 'heat resistant aluminum'.
There is no such thing as special 'heat resistant' aluminum for over 99% of cooking accessories, as that's a false tag they put on regular aluminum, as common aluminum doesn't melt until you reach over 1200°, which is far above typical cooking temps.

Do these restrict airflow? Yes. Can you still get crispy results? Also yes. Is cleaning the basket much easier? Also yes!

I put these under the metal tray to catch the grease so the pull out container stays clean.

Yes, I still have to wash the tray but my food doesn't sit there in a puddle of grease.

Don't these severely diminish the effectiveness of the air frying?
YEP. Air frying needs airflow and these partially block it. Makes ZERO sense.

They have these with holes punched out for anyone worried about heat circulation. BTW don't put these in without food on top or they get sucked up into the heating element and catch on fire. Ask me how I know.

I'll stick with my foil sheets. I can line my air fryer with individual foil sheet for cheap compared to this price.

Most cookware and the air fryers themselves that touch the food are made in China or other developing countries, so do actual dinnerware and eating utensils we put in our mouths.

If the outcome is more positive than the blocking of airflow, I will use them. LOL

I have been just lining the basket with a sheet of parchment paper and that works too. Less messy than without.

I've always used foil, it may block a bit but it still heats better than a microwave and is more convenient than an oven. This is not rocket science, if it improves your situation for cheap then use it, if not then skip.

I am in for the 200 pack bc I am a lz f who doesn't like to clean.

Thanks for the correction. I just researched aluminum vs. chrome-plated steel. Apparently, heat resistant applies to both, which is good to know.

Attached is a $9.99 trivet advertised as "Food-Grade Stainless Steel" which is similar to mine. It has four legs and is 1.7" high. I believe this one is better than the sample I previously posted. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DJ8V7...=UTF8&th=1

ETA: Here's the same 7" version but at a lower price of $6.28. Made in CHINA. Smilie
