Just you know, Walmart has extended their return window to 1/31/2027 for items sold by Walmart, including this PC. Try it, and if you hate it, return it.

😂 wtf are you talking about? Gpu prices are still at an all time high. 5090s hit $9k-$11k

Community Reviews

This MSI Codex Z2 is being framed as a strong sub 1,000 dollar ready to use gaming PC, especially for 1080p play, with the RTX 5060 alone cited as worth about $500. The 1 TB SSD and upgradeable DDR5 memory add flexibility, and the long Walmart return window through January 31, 2027 lowers the risk. The main knocks are the 16 GB RAM and 8 GB VRAM, which may feel tight for heavier modern games and future use. It looks like a solid value if you want a prebuilt with room to tinker.

Somebody hasn't been paying attention to memory prices
Or anything since 16 gigs is still fine

32gb on windows IS a minimum over 600$, no matter wich market we are in
Windows 11 and the mandatory included spyware is quite resource intensive. That's why gamers are switching to Steam OS.

This being an "f' chip it doesn't have integrated graphics correct? I'm looking for a productivity machine that'll run (4) monitors. Will this machine run (4) monitors?

Can RAM be added later? Sorry--in a rush and didn't dig for details yet.
Just in case you were not joking: Yes, RAM can be added.

Typically only laptop computers or all-in-ones have soldered RAM.

Can I put SteamOS on this?
I don't think so because of the card, but you could run something similar, like Bazzite.

You don't need to buy Steam devices (though I do have a Steam Deck and 10/10, would recommend): You can just load a Linux distro of your choice. Bazzite is popular for gaming but there are tons of good options.

I hope you are right but as far as I know prices are predicted to continue to rise at least for another 2-3 years. I think this is just an actual slick deal.

I think they're working on this. All these low GB machines... World is a mess.

So in theory, one could purchase, flip the GPU for $400ish and either flip the cpu for one with onboard or add a cheap older GPU (say $100) and have a nice home pc with tons of headroom to expand later if needed? We've been needed to upgrade our home pc for several years and well I missed the bus on the cheap ones from several years ago. The mini pcs are fine but limited room for later upgrades of ram/ssds and if selling off parts from this one, puts it in the about the same range as a decent priced mini.

Man, this is right in my range, but I just still don't know enough if this is a good deal or not. Would love to be able to play some good games on it, but don't want to be completely out of the game in a year or 2.

Zero chance you're getting 400 for this when there's always deals for 400 and sub 400 5060ti (8gb), brand new. Don't expect to net more then 250-300 from marketplace
