Just you know, Walmart has extended their return window to 1/31/2027 for items sold by Walmart, including this PC. Try it, and if you hate it, return it.

Really nice deal... The GPU alone is $500.

😂 wtf are you talking about? Gpu prices are still at an all time high. 5090s hit $9k-$11k

This MSI Codex Z2 is a ready to use 1080p gaming desktop that stands out for the RTX 5060 and sub 900 dollar pricing. The GPU alone is cited near 500 dollars, and the system is described as a strong value for current games, with room to add more RAM later. The main knocks are the 16GB memory, the Ryzen 5 8400F being a low end AM5 chip, and the 8GB VRAM limiting longevity in newer AAA and Unreal Engine 5 titles. The long Walmart return window adds some cushion, making it a practical starter tower if you want upgrade headroom without paying for a higher tier build.

Common Questions (5)

This is a strong sub-$1,000 ready-to-use deal, but there are alternatives around the same price range with stronger parts, such as used PCs with RTX 4070-tier GPUs or a Best Buy option for about $100 more with a Ryzen 7 8700F and Radeon 9060. If you want better longevity, those alternatives may be worth comparing before buying.

Yes. The 16GB DDR5 configuration can be expanded later, and the RAM is not soldered like on laptops or all-in-ones. That makes it practical to start with 16GB now and add more if your games or multitasking needs grow.

Yes, it is positioned as a 1080p gaming card and the system is described as a good price for that use. The main caveat is that it has 8GB of VRAM, so it is better suited to 1080p than heavier 1440p or future AAA workloads.

Yes. Walmart's return window for items sold by Walmart, including this PC, is extended to 1/31/2027. After that date, issues would most likely go through MSI RMA unless you bought an extended warranty.

It is on an active AM5 platform, so there is room to upgrade the CPU later and add a stronger GPU when needed. The tradeoff is that the 8400F itself is a low-end AM5 chip, so the current build is more of a starter platform than a high-end one.

tempting to buy. i am only after the AM5 platform so i can move out from my old intel 11700K Z590 motherboard. I still have a radeon RX 7800XT 16GB and can still play games at decent quality and framerates.

Thank you. If there is a problem then msi will handle it out of the box ? Also Wish there was option to buy version with upgraded ram

all issues after 1/31/27 (the last day to return to walmart) would most likely go thru MSI rma, unless you bought the ext warranty.
