Valid point. But if you're talking DIYer, you're not using this thing everyday. You're probably not even using this thing once a month. You're using it every couple of months to rotate tires or do some light automotive work.

I just used mine to change wheel hubs, knuckles, axles after 16 years of rust . It pounded off all the nuts/bolts that would have been impossible without a heavy duty impact. One hard to get to bolt with impact I tried a breaker bar 3ft, no luck. I had a last resort 16 inches of extension through a hole straight in. The Ridgid pouded that 203lb torque rusted bolt out in about 20 seconds. I'm sure it ain't the top dog but for 69 bucks its a winner.
