They added a battery, a new way for an umbrella to fail!

Thinking the same... I ordinarily consider this size umbrella as freebie/emergency/disposable and there's not one cell in my body that believes this is a good idea

No cover for the USB port, no mention of a manual override in case of a dead/fried battery. Oh yeah this is a real winner.
Buy a normal umbrella.

Looks great for someone with only one arm/hand, but just for the closing part.

I used to have a tote umbrella with a flashlight at the bottom of it, and the battery was well sealed. It was actually super handy since it was usually dark when it was raining. Wish I could find the same one again since it lasted me forever. This looks super cheap and not work the extra failure points though.

As a new father, I can definitely see the value in this. Being able to open and close an umbrella with the touch of a button makes a huge difference when you're holding a baby and only have one hand free.

There are plenty of umbrellas that do this without a battery

There's umbrellas that open and close with a touch of a button and it's done without a battery, so why carry something heavier and requires charging?

Really I haven't seen any that closes and the shaft collapses closed as well with one hand.
