Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

You can pickup a 128 ounce/gallon at about $4 via Walmart [walmart.com] for comparison. However I'm in for 4 (64 ounces) bottles at $2.99 shipped just as a S&S filler item so I can meet the 5 order minimum to get the 15% discount; thanks OP.

I use white vinegar to make my own homemade kitchen and bathroom cleaner with 1 part water to 2 parts vinegar and a decent squirt of Dawn dishsoap; seems to work well. Don't use this cheap basterd mixture on plastics though as it will fade and dull them due to the acidic nature of the vinegar. Also don't spray the vinegar cleaner on anything metallic as it will strip the rust prevention coating on metals over time and make them more prone to rust or discoloration.

Key Problems with Vinegar Spray

• It damages natural stone: The acetic acid in vinegar etches, dulls, and destroys sealants on natural stone surfaces like granite, marble, limestone, and travertine.
• It ruins wood finishes: Vinegar dissolves the protective sealants and finishes on hardwood floors and wood furniture, leaving them dull, cloudy, or scratched.
• It strips electronic screens: Spraying vinegar on phones, tablets, or computer monitors can permanently strip anti-glare coatings and reduce touchscreen sensitivity.
• It is not a true disinfectant: Vinegar is not an EPA-registered disinfectant. It cannot reliably kill dangerous household pathogens like Staphylococcus, MRSA, or viruses.
• It corrodes metal and rubber: Repeated use on stainless steel knives, aluminum, cast iron, or rubber seals and gaskets can cause pitting, rust, and degradation.
• Dangerous chemical reactions: Mixing vinegar with chlorine bleach creates toxic, potentially deadly chlorine gas. Mixing it with hydrogen peroxide forms corrosive peracetic acid.
• Lingering odor: The sharp, sour smell remains in the air and on surfaces long after you finish cleaning.

No 15% off coupon for me.

My local grocery store sells extra strength distilled white vinegar (9% acidity vs 5%) for $3.79/128oz. I can dilute it if I need to lower its acidity.

Good as a low cost filler, but not good from a price point of view. I get 1 gal for $2.88 at my local store.

Is there a DIY make-at-home spray cleaner recipe you can recommend?
