anyone know if these are genuine DeWalt batteries?
They should be, but Amazon (and therefore woot) have been know to mix inventory, meaning you could be purchasing a legit battery and still get a counterfeit.
Amazon has issues with counterfeit products from 3rd party sellers. This is not the same case.

I bought one of these Woot DEWALT battery deals before and I was so curious if I got a genuine battery that I called DEWALT customer service to see if they would look up the serial numbers on the unit I got.
They literally said they didn't have a database they could access and sent me to a simple webpage that said I should check the height and appearance of the case screws. That was it.
I saw a few YouTube videos that said the only way to be absolutely sure is to open up the battery and inspect the circuit board, wiring, quality/assembly of the cells and finally whether the interior of the case was molded to keep the cells tight to prevent movement. You can easily tell the knockoffs because it would be poorly assembled. If you do all of this, you clearly have broken the battery seal anyway and then the DEWALT warranty would likely be void.
So basically, I decided against opening the battery, charged it up and accepted the fact I would risk the battery being genuine or not. I eventually found another identical aH battery that was genuine (it came from a HD kit), compared them very carefully and aside from the serial number differences, they appeared to be the same.
I am not saying anything about whether Woot sells genuine batteries or not.
So please don't dump on me.
I am just saying I was very anxious if I got a real one or not and it's really hard to be sure.
DEWALT customer service was definitely not helpful. If you think about it, you can imagine they are more incentivized not to confirm every serial number you call them about because they want you to buy through authorized retailers only.
