This Jamo bundle is a budget home theater setup that delivers big, room filling sound and a clear step up from soundbars or TV speakers. The towers are the standout, with strong clarity, deeper bass, and good performance for movies, TV, and even music. The surrounds also get praise, and the system is easy to drive with a decent receiver. The center and sub are the weak links, and the Atmos modules depend heavily on room layout. It is a solid value if you want a full speaker package and can tune around the compromises.

i just received this set and recently purchased a 7.2 receiver. Can someone explain where I plug the "top" speakers to on the receiver? The "top" speaker can be attached to the bookshelf or standing one, and the bookshelf or standing has the separte input labled for the attachment. On my receiver I have
Front left/right
Center
Surround Left/right
Surround Back Left/right

I tested the top speakers on the surround left/right with a music file but nothing played. When I connected the top to the Back left/right, I got sound. If anyone can explain or point me in the direction to find out (looked all over the internet to no avail). Thank you!

Going to sound crazy but I've got Klipsch center/towers/sub, wanting surround and possibly Atmos would it make any sense whatsoever to get these to replace the towers and probably get my money back and more from selling the Klipsch towers? I'm sure these aren't as good but if it's not by a mile?
It's hard to say without knowing the specific model of Klipsch speakers, but it'd be a bit of a waste. Why wouldn't you wouldn't just add two decent surround speakers to your existing setup?

The slanted height speakers for Atmos are practically useless. Center/Left/Right are by far your most important speakers. It'd definitely be the wrong move to downgrade those just to get some weak satellites and an underutilized/semi-pointless height channel.

You don't have heights ports on your receiver?

I bought the Denon AVR-x1300 (used) thinking I thought I just needed one with Dolby and 7.1 or 7.2 (dont know much about these). Did I buy a wrong one for this set up?

Per Google, Connect your height, ceiling, or upward-firing Atmos speakers to the SURROUND BACK / HEIGHT speaker terminals on the back of the AVR-X1300W.

I'm not that familiar with Denon, but had a Marantz a few years back (think they're the same brand now for the most part) and you have to go into the setup options and program it for front height speakers (there's probably a few different configurations available). I'm sure you're going to have to download the manual for that receiver.

Interesting since the energy gets hyped up so much
It's a different market; you're comparing a subcompact car to a mid sized suv. Those Energy speakers along with a low receiver (probably a $400 investment) will absolutely destroy a soundbar costing the same, probably even double the price. 🤷

TY for all the helpful comments. I fiddled with the receiver options because I wasn't getting any sound at first and found the option for the "dolby" overhead speakers. It mentions to place in the "surround rear" which was odd because I would have assumed the read should be for designated rear speakers. I placed the boookshelf speakers for the surround, and I think everything is working. I still need to set up the wires (big hassle) but the sound is quite the difference from the soundbar with rear speaker set up i had
