This Verizon promo bundles a free iPhone 18 Pro with a free iPad or Apple Watch, plus Google AI, but the real draw is only for people willing to take on a long postpaid contract. The strongest appeal is getting expensive devices upfront without paying full retail, especially for anyone already planning to switch carriers or needing in person support and Verizon coverage. The main catch is the required service math, with a Simplicity plan, Pro add on, and device line often pushing the total well above the value of the hardware. Signal and verification hassles also come up, so the deal works best when the monthly bill still fits your budget.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes. The promo is tied to a Simplicity plan with a required Pro add-on, with commenters estimating about $50/month for the base plan plus another $50/month for Simplicity Pro. That means the phone credit is offset by higher monthly service charges over the 36-month term.

  • Not really. The "free" iPad or Watch still needs a data line, with the cheapest option described as about $10/month over 3 years, plus taxes and regulatory fees. That pushes the device's real cost into the hundreds of dollars.

  • A rough breakdown puts it around $4,100 in mandatory service fees over 36 months when you include the base plan, Pro add-on, device line, and taxes. Another estimate puts the service cost at about $4,100 for roughly $1,800 in devices.

  • No. The offer is described as only working on phones priced above $1,200, while the base iPhone 18 Pro is listed at $1,199.99. That makes the cheapest model ineligible under the promo rules.

This is great deal. I do use pre-paid but that is not for everyone & Verizon is an evil empire kind of company but not my battle right now.Lots of people can't buy a $1200 phone and $600 tablet outright. (plus good credit cards offer cell phone insurance with monthly plans)Beyond that as you said jobs may be paying, or in the case of my family we plan to switch from pre-paid to T-mobile for 'free upfront' iPhones and 4 lines for $100. Which is very hard to beat without lots of pre-paid plan switching. Not to mention because I will pay monthly my credit card will provide cell insurance for all the phones and I will switch to T-Mobile home internet for more discounts. Also my Dad can go into a store when he needs some help and I am not around or he just want to get out.Sometimes that having some else handle that help alone is worth serious $$$ equivalents. So for Verizon people this is great deal.
Do you have a link for the T-Mobile deal that I can check out?

How did you do your math? For four lines, how much is the unlimited plan?

I think the math is based on a base Simplicity plan for $50 a month and the required Pro add-on for another $50 a month. That's $100 a month for a 36-month contract, or $3,600 total.

The "free" iPad or Watch at its cheapest requires a data plan of $10 a month, which adds another $360 over the 36 months.

Government taxes and regulatory fees are usually around $4–$5 a month (depending on where you live), so adding another $140–$180 over 3 years easily puts you at that $4,100+ mark in mandatory service fees.

If you're wondering why this thread is getting pushed despite the community downvotes, remember that Slickdeals modifies forum links to include affiliate tracking. With premium multi-device contracts paying commissions as high as $45–$75+ per line, this is quite a lucrative thread for SD. I don't fault them for profiting, but everyone should have the full math to make an informed decision.

How the F did this thread got the positive thumb. You are paying $30 for the plan with auto-pay & switch. Then you need to pay additional $50 for simplicity pro (device) in order to get $33.33 monthly credit. So I'm paying $ 30 + $50 + taxes for one line.....literally $100+ a month for one freaking line......this is crap
