Every suction style I have bought could not withstand the California heat. It either dries up and fall or just won't stick any more. I even tried the one with the sticky gel suction. Not sure how to deal with this without putting a permanent glue

I own this and don't recommend it, there is no way to tighten the swivel so after a month it just starts to freely move side to side.

I was in Arizona and now Texas. Had same issue. Later one I found out some new but cheap magsafe mount with suction AND NanoGel would hold.

I used a smooth round disk designed to be a semi permanent, but removable fixture on the top of my dash. Then, every couple of months I re- set the suction mobile phone holder and remount it. This works in desert heat. But I have to use a phone holder that telescopes down towards me and out of the direct sun. The heat can destroy batteries very fast.

I've had this for a couple of months now on my dash which is that pebble texture so not totally flat. It's held a large phone just fine, strong magnet. This includes during hot southern summer. I'd get again.

Plus the anxiety of when it might fall off... It's either air vent or cup holder mounts for me now.

I am in Arizona too and agree the one you linked is one of the best ones for me. Occasionally falls off too, but it's probably related to the location that I am placing it.

I wonder if it would work to attach to the back of the stationary or notebook monitor so that you can use your phone as a web camera.

Well the use cases are endless. I saw some people use similar magsafe mount to attach to the back of their giant tv(my 100" works) so they can you their iphone(continuity camera) and big tv for video calls (via apple tv 4k). I copied that and also attach a cheap one too underneath or on the side of my work desk. So guests visiting my work area can give "compliments" on the "invisible phone stand" appear out of no where 🤣🤣🤣

I thought this was what checkthat was referring to when they said they tried one with the sticky gel suction. I bought the same one in your link back in May, but I stuck it on my laptop tray (never tried it inside my car) and it's been stuck there pretty good for months even after constant adjustments. I had another version that I bought on Temu which did not have the sticky gel and that one won't stick in my car anymore.
