Eh, it's fine for light DIY. But you can get far more powerful Dewalt drills for a few more dollars.

You can definitely get a deal on a top of the line 800 or 801 for a few more bucks.

You want the DCD999 drill that accepts 60v batteries so it can break your wrist when the drill bit hits a nail

I was using a Milwaukee fuel 18v drill with a large size 8.0 high output battery with an auger bit to drill holes through a couple studs in a corner that were sandwiched together. The bit hit a nail and ripped the drill from my hands, spun around and the large battery came up and hit me right in the mouth and popped a hole in my upper lip like a pimple. Gums were sore for a bit but teeth were ok. A large Auger bit in a powerful drill vs a nail is brutal. What sucks is you can't really use the clutch feature on the drill because those bits create too much torque.

One of these will most likely last you a lifetime.
Black Friday is just over a month away for a deal, but there could be one today.
Set a deal alert "DeWalt Drill" don't rely on a model number, because most of the deals listed are too lazy to post them!

Drill last but batteries won't. Just like my dad has one from like 15 years ago. Battery is dead, can't find replacement cuz they no longer made those old batteries. This is why I am looking a new drill now.
