Horror Fright Ghouls makes a case similar to this -- the "APACHE 2800" which goes on sale frequently for $20.
"PELICAN 1170": Interior 10.5 x 6 x 3.2"
"APACHE 2800": Interior 11-7/8 in. x 9 in. x 5-5/16 in.
Now, HF's offering isn't as robust as the bird's case, but at half the price.....how much of a case do you really need?
I find that kanuk Brand cases are the sweet spot. They're nicer than harbor freight, but slightly less robust than pelican. in my opinion, they have the best latches of all three and tend to sell at a price point between the two. That being said, pelican is still the gold standard for protecting high-end gear and for those who might have their luggage bashed around in travel

I will say that as a huge pelican case lover, I do have a few harbor freight ones for some various stupid needs like something to keep my stuff dry on my kayak or my remotes dry on my porch. However, for anything important, I default to my pelican. But the biggest difference that any purchaser has to be aware of is if you need something to automatically relieve pressure, do not get a Harbor-freight case.

You mean the Canadian Nanuk. Most Nanuk and Pelican cases are more expensive than the stuff most people want to protect.

I have the APache 2800 and pelican 1200. The apache has an exposed screw for the air valve into the case. when I take layers of foam out for my cameras I have to foam around the screw. The pelican case the screw is exposed. FYI
A reviewer posted a video where he used one hand to pull the hinges from the back of the case. He stated this is non-destructive, and someone can open the case and return the pins and no one would be the wiser. I guess it depends on what you use it for.

Haven't had either Pelican or Apache fail me. I just wish Apache had some of the more niche cases & features.

Pelican is expensive but quality. Nanuk is very good also.
